LinguaTap is a Chrome extension that helps users read and learn from foreign-language webpages by providing translations for words, phrases, sentences, and other selected webpage text.
This Privacy Policy explains what information LinguaTap processes, how it is used, and how it is stored.
LinguaTap does not require an account and does not ask users to provide their name, email address, password, payment information, or other identifying information.
When you use LinguaTap's translation features, text from the webpage you are viewing may be processed in order to provide a translation. Depending on your selected translation mode, this may include a selected word or phrase, a sentence, or a larger section of webpage text.

In the current version, saved vocabulary may also include the webpage URL, webpage title, and the time at which the item was saved.
This information is stored in the user's browser and is not collected by LinguaTap's own servers.
LinguaTap does not sell personal information.
LinguaTap does not operate an advertising or user-tracking system.
Webpage text is shared with translation service providers only when necessary to provide the translation functionality requested by the user.
LinguaTap does not intentionally collect browsing history, personal communications, financial information, health information, or authentication information.
Information stored by LinguaTap in Chrome's extension storage remains on the user's device unless it is removed by the user, cleared by the browser, or otherwise removed through Chrome's extension storage mechanisms.
Translation requests sent to third-party translation services are subject to the privacy and data-retention practices of those services.
Users can remove saved vocabulary through the LinguaTap interface.
Users can also remove LinguaTap's locally stored data through Chrome's extension settings or by uninstalling the extension.
LinguaTap takes reasonable measures to limit the information it processes to what is necessary for its functionality.
However, no method of transmitting or storing information over the internet can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
LinguaTap does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
This Privacy Policy may be updated when LinguaTap's functionality or data practices change.
Any updated version will be published at the same location as this Privacy Policy.
